School for Junegee

We had our meeting with the school board to talk about Junegee’s future in the public school system, and good news:  They said he was disabled.  This may seem odd to put in the “good news” category, but we had heard stories that the county has historically been very stingy in classifying kids with disabliities as disabled, and if they don’t get that classification, they get no additional help in school.  So, we were relieved that Junegee’s physical disabilities AND cognitive abilities were recognized, and the result is that he’ll be part of a public preschool program that will give him the help he needs and the educational and social environment that he deserves.
